How do I clean it?
Water will remove most soil. You may use any non-abrasive cleaner, including bleach if you feel it's necessary to sanitize. High-pressure washing (or a trip to the car wash) is recommended for white pieces; or you might try the "Magic Eraser" found at most grocery stores. The material is non-porous and won't absorb spills that may stain.
How can it be sturdy and comfortable?
HDPE is a naturally flexible polymer and molds to your body for exceptional comfort; yet, it's warranted not to crack, break, splinter or peel because it won't breakdown or become brittle from the sun or cold. It is actually a wood substitute, making it as dense as wood and approximately 20% heavier than cedar - without the maintenance.
What is the material used to make the furniture?
Approximately 93% is High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), which includes some recycled plastic milk & water jugs. The remaining 7% is color concentrate, a foaming agent & UV stabilizer.
Is assembly required?
Some assembly is required on orders shipped outside of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, unless noted (call our office to determine whether you qualify for free assembly). Smaller accessory pieces such as foot stools and end tables are shipped fully assembled as well as folding chairs. Our full product line may be assembled with a #2 Phillips head screwdriver and a 7/16" wrench. Larger items require minimal assembly and are shipped in pieces such as; chair back, chair seat, chair arm/leg assemblies; so you're only working with 4 large pieces and not attaching or screwing each board in place. All assembly instructions include photos along with detailed directions to assist you.
How do I store it?
You don't! The furniture is made to withstand the extremes in climate. Whether you live in the freezing cold of Minnesota, the dry desert of Arizona, or the saltwater climate of the Florida Keys, our furniture is made to last a lifetime.
Does the Color fade?
Unlike most other plastics, the material used to fabricate the furniture is considered colorfast. The color runs throughout each piece and has a UV-inhibitor incorporated into the material to minimize the chance of any discoloration.
What colors are available?
We offer 9 complementary colors; white, brown, green, gray, weathered wood, redwood, black, coffee and sandtone. All neutral, outdoor, earth tones. All of our over 100 styles/designs are available in any of these nine colors. Color samples are available upon request.
How long will it take to get my order?
All of our furniture is hand-crafted when you order. Our average lead-time is 2-4 weeks before your furniture is ready to ship. If you need it by a specific date, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate your schedule.
Is it possible to "test" your furniture?
We do have a variety of pieces available to test on-site for commercial applications. We will FedEx you any of these item(s) for your review for a 2 week period at no-charge. The intent of the test program is to give you the opportunity to evaluate; our construction details, our color options, select a style most comfortable and appropriate for your application, and to compare our products to any others you may be considering.
Is it guaranteed?
Yes, it is guaranteed for 35 years to never crack, break, rot, or peel. These are proven designs that we know will withstand the test of time.
What is your return policy?
We will accept the return of any item that is in re-saleable condition, within 30 days of purchase - no questions asked! All returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Just call our office and we can instruct you on re-packaging and assist you with any shipping issues. All return shipping charges would be the customer's responsibility.
Is the furniture made in the USA?
Yes, we are proud to say that all of our furniture is manufactured in the USA as well as the plastic lumber used to manufacture our full product line.
Are cushions and/or umbrellas available?
All of our pieces are manufactured to industry standard dimensions and will accommodate virtually any cushion available at retail stores. There are 2 sizes of umbrellas sold in the U.S. - commercial and residential. We have the tooling to cut holes in our table tops for either size. (Commercial umbrellas are normally only available through Bar Supply Companies and not generally sold in retail stores.)
What is the difference between the Adirondack Deluxe and Standard Adirondack chairs?
The overall size, weight and appearance of the two are very similar. The backs are slightly different though with the deluxe style having a slightly rounded back, which allows for a little deeper seat, and the standard design has a flat back.
Is sales tax included in the pricing?
Applicable MN Sales tax will be added to all orders shipped to a Minnesota or Illinois address at checkout.
How will my order ship if I'm not in the Minnesota or Illinois delivery area?
Most items ship via FedEx and will take approximately 3 to 6 working days from time of shipment to delivery. It isn't necessary to be home when your order arrives. FedEx will drop your packages without a signature to an area on your property that's easily accessible for the driver.
What type of hardware do you use?
All of the screws and fasteners used in manufacturing our products are a high grade of stainless steel with a Xylon coating (plasticized paint) baked on in a color to complement the furniture. We also countersink any hardware on surfaces that might come in contact with your skin to minimize scratching or snagging any clothing. The straps used on our gliders have an encased bearing system to ensure moisture and dust won't interfere with the smooth glide. The straps are a galvanized material with a colored, impervious powder coat applied.
What is the difference between Swivel and Swivel flex?
On our swivel chair, the seat rotates 360 degrees. On our swivel flex chair, the seat will rotate 360 degrees and gently bounce or "flex" back and forth.
